Trina and David lived in a number of countries until David's retirement from the oil industry, managing many different offshore projects. David is now semi-retired, and is the 'in-house DIY and maintenance man'.

Trina is passionate about food and cooking, is a Cordon Bleu trained cook and teacher, had a very successful cookery school and has written cookery books. She had her own radio cookery programme in Norway and her own catering company, catering for everything from huge weddings to business luncheons.

Both are keen and knowledgeable gardeners, love the Devon countryside and are great supporters of West Country food and wine producers.

For Trina coming home to Devon 4 years ago was the realisation of a dream. The first project was the restoration, renovation, extension and upgrading of Higher Beneknowle and its large gardens, the results of which are now for guests to share.

As a result of overseas postings, both Trina and David have a basic speaking knowledge of Brazilian Portugese, Dutch, German, Norwegian, Thai and French.
